Yesterday was the July clean-up and maintenance day at the range. The crew consisted of five board members and three club members. Special thanks to those who showed up and pitched in, your time and effort are greatly appreciated!
Typical duties such as sweeping up spent cases, picking up the trash left at the target stands and emptying the trash cans was performed. Additionally, the target backers were changed out at 50-yards in preparation for this weekends ABRA rimfire match (assuming Mother Nature cooperates).
The bulk of the crew’s time was spent in the clubhouse giving it a thorough cleaning and expanding the office area by four feet to make room to add shelving to get stuff off the floor so it won’t get wet and you can actually move around in there without tripping over everything. This also necessitated rearranging the paper target racks and the took cabinet. The clubhouse is probably as clean and organized as it’s been since the building was first erected, and we ask that the members do their part to keep it that way.
As always, we ask and encourage that members come out and lend a hand on the monthly clean-up and maintenance days to help improve our facilities and keep it looking nice for everyone to enjoy. Most days we’re done by noon unless we’re doing a bigger project like the one we did today. We have a couple bigger maintenance projects that we would like to get done before the end of summer and we will need more hands to get them done quickly so that members can get come out and shoot in the afternoon/evening rather than having the range closed the whole day and/or weekend.
There will be a board meeting tonight (Sunday) at the club at approximately 6:00 P.M. to cover any final details that need to be addressed regarding the upcoming Women on Target event.
